This is a first printing of Claude Flight's famous 'Lino Cutting and Printing' published in 1934. Flight championed the modern linocut as a fresh art form, characterized by vibrant colors, geometric patterns, and lively expression and hoped it would be the art form of the everyman. In this book he explains the creative process while showcasing the final art that still remains popular today. Very Good Condition. Pictorial paper covered boards with black lettering to spine. Includes numerous illustrations and 13 plates. Binding is firm and pages are clean. 3 stamps to front pastedown, front free end paper and title page. Boards are clean with only minor bumps to corners and light general marking to rear board. Spine has minor fraying to ends.

Cream illustrated boards, tan linen spine with black lettering with 8 pages of advertising to the rear relating to Lino-Cutting, including, 'The Grosvenor School of Modern Art' Principal Iain Macnab. Original Claude Flight linocut to the front cover. Light age related markings to the front covers and slight spotting the endpapers otherwise clean.
