Boston, Massachusetts, USA: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1976. BW5 - A hard cover first edition withdrawn ex-library book in good+ to very good- condition. The same date appears on the back of the title page and a sequence of numbers appears with the "1" present and no additional printings indicated. A tight, clean, sound copy in gray cloth covered boards with gold lettering on the spine and gold lettering and a large black graphic on teh front with very minor overall shelf war with some light tape staining on the front and back free endpapers from where the dust jacket was taped to the boards plus there are the usual library stamps, label, and pocket on the title page and the back free endpaper plus there is some very light soiling on the top outside paper edges. The dust jaacket shows very miinor overall shelf wear with some very, very light fading on the spine plus there a few tiny spots of light surface chipping form a library label on the spine plus it is still in the original library mylar sleeve. Heavily illustrated with black and white photographs. A book that is both a practical guide to literary New York City and the days, works, homes, and haunts in the city of prominent writers and their circles. Endnotes, indexed, 409p. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Ex-Library.
