New York: King's Crown Press, 1947. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. Very Good in a Good jacket, clipped at the top edge but priced on the bottom ($2.75), generally toned and soiled, some chips and closed tears throughout. Pale purple cloth, faded at the spine and edges, with red ink lettering on the spine. Square, bound with some reading wear, purple top stain, former owner's name on the front endpaper, clean otherwise. Balakian's first book, advertised on the jacket as "first-hand information about certain important poets of modern France--Lautreamont, Rimbaud, Breton, Aragon, Eluard." An important work of literary criticism.
