Delightful Victorian children's book that has a wood engraving on each page accompanied by a four line verse. Subject matter is children and animals. Over 170 illustrations, each almost full page. 'Little Folks' was published in half yearly volumes and this Little Folks Picture Gallery was a 'one off'' publication that focused on the illustrations. Ornate green cloth binding with black and gilt decoration to upper board and backstrip and a central chromolithograph mounted within the front board. Blind embossing to lower board. AEG. Plain endpapers. Frontispiece with tissue guard. 25x19 cm. 176pp plus 4 pages of publisher's book adverts. Corners and top/tail backstrip rubbed. Binding very bright and clean. Offset tanning to endpapers. Frontispiece, title page and tissue guard have some brown spotting. Remaining contents clean with only occasional spot. from Otto
