About This Item

Evanston, IL: William S. Lord, 1903. 1903 First Edition. NEAR FINE. A well-preserved copy of this scarce title (a collection of pieces from the author's Chicago Tribune column, "Lino-type or Two"). Each right-hand page is printed to resemble a child's schoolhouse slate, with a Little Henry witticism chalked in childish hand (with misspellings and poor grammar!) and accompanied by a stick-figure drawings. The pages and the printed paper wrapper (printed on the same brown paper as the text) are cleverly bound in heavy string which weaves between 4 holes punched near the spine. Pages are clean and fine. Wrapper is clean and very good; slightly shelf rubbed with a few edge nicks; chips at base of spine. String binding intact. "My Maw says nabors noze so mutch about rasin childern thay otto hav a few."4 x 6"; 128 pages. First Edition. Wrapper. Near Fine.
