Brown hardcover with lettering in gilt on spine is tight, clean, shows mild bumps to lower corners. Contents clean save for author's signature and inscription "with best wishes" on ffep, former owner's bookplate inside front cover. Dust jacket shows minor rubbing to extremities and two short closed tears to upper edge of spine panel. Overall, a very nice copy which will look very good in a new mylar cover. A very well written, objective look at Britain's Child Immigration Scheme, in which children (often as young as 8 or 10 years old) were sent overseas, supposedly to build a better Canada and a better life, but only too often to work as unpaid labourers denied schooling, and in many cases even proper food and shelter.. Signed by Author. 2nd Printing. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. 6 x 9.25 in. (15cm x 23.5cm).
