George Philip & Son. London. 1891. Octavo. xii, 372pp. Frontispiece portrait, 5 further plates, text illustrations, 7 colour maps (2 folding), 2 text maps. Full red calf prize binding by T. Brear & Co. Bradford. Spine in six compartments with raised banding, gilt tooling and lettering. Bradford Grammar School Coat of Arms to upper board in gilt, gilt border rules and edge tooling, blind inner edge tooling. Marbled endpapers and edges. Prize bookplate to fep. dated 1895. Spine slightly faded, a few minor marks. Inner overlay a little darkened. Some light rubbing. Small smudge to margin of a3. Binder's plate to rear pastedown.
Awarded to V. S. Ackroyd. (A wool merchant, trading with Canada in the 2oth century)
