All edges gilt, (gilding a little faded in places), green silk ribbon bookmark. Small area of surface loss to lower board (see photo). Corner tips lightly rubbed. Occasional light spotting, mainly to free endpapers. Text and plates crisp and bright.
Guy Toussaint Julien Carron (1760-1821) born in Rennes. Educator, writer and philanthropist who founded a number of social and educational institutions: schools, libraries and pharmacies while in exile in England. Deported to Jersey (1792-1796), on the Bourbon Restoration in 1814, Carron returned to France and became head of the Institut de Marie - Thérèse.

All books are illustrated and in terrific condition. All books are tightly bound with no cracks and no loose pages. All books appear unread with clean pages and no writing, stains, tears or foxing found. The slip case is clean with no stains and only a tiny tear at one corner by the opening. Overall the set is in great condition.
