About This Item
The Log Cabin by H. (Horace) Greeley, 30 Ann-Street. Vol. 1 new Series. New-York, Saturday, June 12, 1841. No. 28. 4 pages fold out. Name of J. T. Baker in upper right hand corner and upper left hand corner is probably the number of papers sold 10,231. Very few have survived intact. The articles are Whig party centric. News from Congress, Secretary of War, The McLeod Case, Webster's response to the British Government via Mr. Fox as to what the President thinks about the McLeod Case, the president was John Tyler after William Henry Harrison died in office. Also, Repeal of the Gag Law and many other articles and facts. Interesting reports of the Indian Actions in Florida as well. Paper is in good condition but has a tear at the center fold that is small but goes into the words but does not affect the reading. There is a large but faint water stain on the bottom right hand corner and a fold on center as well as diagonal across bottom of the paper. This paper could use a good pressing.. This is a very nice item so good luck bidding!
