Jacket is worn at the edges and spine, with several small chips and tears, most notably with some small pieces missing at the top of the spine. There is also a length along the front spine edge that has a thin tear several inches long, with another of similar descript on the front flap hinge. Otherwise, the jacket is soiled and age-toned, but in good condition. Book itself shows only some mild shelf-wear. Interior is clean, bright and free of stray markings. Overall, this is a very good copy with a good dust jacket.

A common book in the regular edition, but this is the first time we have encountered a copy from the edition limited to 155 copies, printed on deckle-edge paper and signed by the author. It chronicles the experiences of her father, George F. Hale, in California in 1849 and the early '50's, and on various voyages up and down the Pacific coast of the Americas. MINTZ 598.
