(New York: Knopf, 1933. Softcover. Fine. First edition. Illustrated by W.A. Dwiggins. Sewn wrappers. With trifle creasing throughout else fine. Inscribed to poet Thomas Ferril in the year of publication inside the front wrap: "To T.F. / from RF- his faithful. Christmas 1933." Also present is the original publisher's unprinted envelope, addressed to Ferrill in Robert Frost's hand (expected wear but carelessly opened, lacking a portion of the flap). Thomas H. Ferril (1896-1988) was a poet, columnist, and editor of the *Rocky Mountain Herald*. He was a friend of many American authors including Robert Frost, Thomas Wolfe and Carl Sandburg. His collection of verse, *High Passage*, won the Yale Younger Poets Award in 1926. Crane A17, issued as number eight in Knopf's Borzoi Chap Books series. A nice association.
