About This Item

New York: Crescent Books. Hardcover. Illustrations, drawings & plans. 279 pages. The Mayflower, Fulton's Clermont, Nelson's Victory, the Golden Hind, and many more famous vessels appear, some with details, some as full replicas. While nautical enthusiasts will enjoy pursuing this volume, they will also use it as a comprehensive illustrated glossary. Every sailor will want the definitive lists of ship's carpenter tools, types of anchors, house flags, "rules of the road", loadlines and draft lines, rigging, hatches, sails, masts, and so much more. The dust jacket has some very slight creasing along the spine. The text is clean and the binding tight. Heavy extra postage at cost. Heavy requires more postage.
