André, 1667, 155 pp., elegantly rebound in green leather with gilt titles and gilt decoration to spine; top edge gilt, slight bumping to corners. First book published by Writing Master and Calligrapher Etienne de Blégny. a member of the guild of maîtres écrivains. This early pedagogical work is a treatise on French orthography. Notation inside front cover suggests this volume is from library of Augustin de Backer (1809-1873), Belgian Jesuit and renowned bibliographer.
