London: Macmillian, 1935. (UK) This book was originally published in Sept 1933; this the 7th printing of the first edition February 1935. Remnant of bookplate to front endpaper, no markings, hinges solid, the spine is faded with heavier patches of fading to the head and foot of spine, otherwise Good in unclipped Acceptable dust jacket with chips to head and foot of spine and a chip to upper corner of front panel. Green cloth, 281pp. The book was turned into a film, also called Lost Horizon, in 1937 by director Frank Capra. It is best remembered as the origin of Shangri-La, a fictional utopian lamasery located high in the mountains of Tibet. The book, published in 1933, caught the notice of the public only after Hilton's Goodbye, Mr. Chips was published in 1934. Lost Horizon became a huge popular success. (1.7 JM LVR 204/b1. Hardcover.
