(7.5 x 5.5 inches), 8vo., 173 pages. First Trade Edition (published September, 1923), first issue (state A; in the first binding). One of twenty thousand copies on English featherweight paper. Title above the author's name on spine, with "of" correct on the final page, and textual points on pages 157, 163, 164, 171, 173, and 174. This book tells the story of Marian Forrester and Captain Daniel Forrester; the book was cited as an influence for F. Scott Fitzgerald in writing The Great Gatsby. A clean, bright copy in a chipped and torn jacket.. First Edition. Cloth. Very Good Plus/Good. Octavo.

Synopsis

Willa Cather's A Lost Lady was first published in 1923. It tells the story of Marian Forrester and her husband, Captain Daniel Forrester who live in the Western town of Sweet Water, along the Transcontinental Railroad.
