Louisiana: Louisiana State University Press, 1939. A collection of Louisiana French folk songs with text and scores. Author's aim has been to give a reproduction of the songs just as [he] heard them, with special care as to phonetic and musical rendition. Songs evolved from known originals were transcribed as heard. Hard to find NON ex libri copy. Rust colored cloth boards, clean, brown paste-down leatherette labels at front and spine with bright gilt lettering, a few small bits missing along edges of both. Textblock pages [159 including index] clean, unmarked, binding tight and square. PO's last name at endpaper. Endpapers, feps, and page edges with mild age discolorations.
