About This Item

New York: Brentano's, 1894. Illustrated. Hardcover. James Fagan. 273pp. Octavo [22 cm] Light green cloth covered boards with decorative titles on the spine and front cover. Very good. The covers are gently soiled and faded. There are 4 very small light stains on the front cover. The edges of the covers are rubbed and bumped. There is a three inch crack in the front endsheet along the hinge, and the rear endsheet is cracked along the entire hinge. The front pastedown has a former owner's ink stamp. There is a small ink stain on the front free endsheet. There are losses from the fore edge margins of pp. 59,73, and 75, not affecting the text. There is a large loss from the tissue guard at p. 76. It looks as though the book has been inscribed by Olea and Ellis Shipp on June 4th, 1902. Ellis Shipp was a pioneer woman in Utah and an obstetrician.
