Pages are clean and bright, no marks or damage; as-new condition. Endpapers are somewhat toned. Boards covered with floral patterned paper, off-white with light blue and green accents. Spine covered in faded blueish fabric; sun damage on spine, shelfwear on edges and top/tail of spine. Slipcase is very faded and worn, especially the edges around the opening. Still solid, however.

The book grades as a strong VG to VG+ in the slipcase grades as G+. Exterior the book shows slight toning to the floral decorated boards, spine is slightly signed with the little bit of wear at the bottom. Slipcase shows toning on edges and the top edge is starting to split on both sides by less than inch. Internal binding is good in text pages are tight, no signatures or bookplates, no library markings, no handwriting. The last text page states that only 1450 copies were printed at the Walpole Printing Office, in Mount Vernon NY. No publication date listed though numerous online references state the Peter Pauper edition was released in 1938.
