Richmond, Virginia: J. W. Ferguson & Sons, Publishers, 1935. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo. 471 pages, indexed. Hardcover bound in green cloth with spine titles in gilt. No dust jacket. The binding shows some wear and spotting but no heavy damp stains. The boards are very slightly bowed at the edges. Secure inner hinges. The endpapers have a little foxing and the text is a little toned, but overall a sound copy with unmarked text. Early owner's signature on the front flyleaf reads, "Mary Leigh Suhling / September 1935 / Lynchburg, Virginia." Over 100 pages pertains to the Civil War and its aftermath. Chapter 12 (pages 77-94) is on the Battle of Lynchburg. The last section (page 241-449) is on "Some Lynchburg Families and Genealogies." Illustrated with full-page photos. Quite scarce.
