About This Item

Oxonii: Oxford at the Claredon Press, 1968. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. 8vo (5" x 7"). Latin and Greek. Oxford Classical Texts Series. vii, 268 p.p. Blue cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Light bumping to spine ends and rubbing to spine ends and corners. Damp staining to fore edge and tail edge. Text is clean. Price stamp to FFEP. Dust jacket is discoloured and damp stained to spine and edges, small chips to spine ends and corners. The study of Greek Lyric Poetry has long been handicapped by the lack of a convenient text-book. The present volume brings together the principle poems and fragments published by Lobel and Page in Poetarum Lesborium Fragmenta and by Page in Poetae Melici Graeci. The texts have been revised where necessary, and the critical apparatus has been abbreviated and adapted to serve the needs of teacher and student.
