About This Item

Leipzig und Görlitz: In der Marcheschen Buchhandlung, 1751. Hardcover. Very Good. Published 1751. 4to, contemporary plain stiff paper covers, 117 pp, plus Register. VG, with minor library marks (bookplate on pastedown, evidence of a label removal from front board. Spangenberg was a bishop of the Moravian Brethren who is of particular importance in Pennsylvania as he traveled from Europe to that state in the 1740s to bring the Schwenkfeldians to his faith. He defended the colonies in the Seven Years War and defended Moravians against polemical attacks from Lutherans and Pietists. This 'Declaration' is a defense of Zinzendorfian doctrine.
