Berlin; Be-Hotsa?ot Tsevi Hirsh Kolvari, 1846. Paperback. Original Wraps. 12mo. 10, 40, XIV pages. 19 cm. First edition. First Appearance. In Hebrew with Introduction and Synopsis in German. 'Treatise on the Unity of God'. Translated from the Arabic by Isaac Nathan ben Kalonymus. Hebrew translation of Maimonides' Maamar Hayichud, a brief Aristotelian treatise on the nature of oneness. With notes on Isaac ben Nathan's Hebrew translation, letter of commentaries, and corrections by Rabbi Shlomo Yehudah Rapoport of Prague. With a foreword by Moritz Steinschneider, citing parallel passages from the Maamar Hayichud and the Mishneh Torah, and notes on linguistic and technical details of the Arabic. Published a year later, in 1847 as well (Sefer Shene ha-me? Orot) , with a different preface, and an added addendum by Steinschneider. Our copy originally comes from the library of Ephraim Deinard, with his signature, date (Nov. 1901) and bibliographic notes in margin of Hebrew title page. Subjects: God (Judaism) . Jewish philosophy - 12th century. OCLC lists 16 copies. Pages aged, with some chipping to edges; otherwise clean annd fresh. Good + condition. (BIBLIOG-35-11).
