NEW YORK: SCRIBNERS, 1907. First Edition . Decorative Cloth. Very Good. First Edition/First Printing 1907. A beautiful copy in dark brown cloth with gilt decorations to front boards and lettering on spine. Full gilt top edge. Light rubbing to cloth in one area of rear board. Else very good copy. Interior is clean tight and bright with very small ink lettering (less than 1/2"x1/2") to rear pastedown top inside spine. A very collectible copy of a first edition Wharton. Madame de Treymes an important, early Edith Wharton novel about the differences between American and European society, published the year she left the United States to take up permanent residency in France.
