The sole UK printing published by The Chiswick Press, London in 1931. Number '93' of only 100 copies issued of a limited edition signed by both Christopher and Lettice Sandford to the limitation page. Printed on Chiswick Press water-marked paper. The BOOK is in Very Good+ condition with some mild fading to the board edges and the spine. The gilt titling and decoration remains bright. Free from inscriptions and erasures. Top edge gilt, others uncut. A hint of toning to the extreme uncut page edges. Lettice Sandford has provided two striking full page B/W illustrations including the title page and several small decorations in the text. Three page chapter 'The Typographer's Jottings' to the rear. Protected in a removable Mylar archival cover. The first book to be illustrated by Lettice Sandford. Very scarce with only one copy having appeared at auction in the last 20 years.
