Warmly inscribed by Brooks, an English teacher at the Seminary, on the front free endpaper. A collection of short stories by the pupils of Washington Female Seminary, a Presbyterian school near Pittsburgh which operated from 1836-1948. Contributors include the following pupils of Washington Female Seminary Jessie Lambie, Elizabeth C. Gist, Bessie Farley, Carolene H. Harding, Cornelia Wales, Marion H. Blood, Ruth Rodgers, Harriet C.
