About This Item

New York: Harper & Brothers Publishers, 1936. First edition. Hardcover. 306pp. Octavo [21 cm] Light brown cloth covered boards with a black ink stamped title against a gilt stamped background on the spine. Very good. The spine is faded, and there are spotted areas on the boards that are faded. Minor spine roll. The head and the foot of the spine are gently bumped. There is mild darkening to the top edge of the text block, and there are several light stains on the edges of the text block. The first and last couple of pages have light foxing stains. The pages are tanned. In a pictorial dust jacket with original price intact. Good condition. Slight age toning. There is a small light moisture stain on the spine and rear panel. The rubbed and creased edges have numerous small losses and short closed tears. The rear inside flap has a small abraded patch. Paul Horgan was awarded two Pulitzer Prizes.
