Brown boards decorative chess board to front and spine and front in gilt. Top edge gilt. The second in Young's 'Chess Strategetics' series and includes chapters on major tactics, geometric and sub-geometric symbols, and plane topography. Moderate wear to extremities; corners cracked; cracked at front hinge. Modest roll to spine; binding gives a little but is holding. Signs of possible previous repair as some gatherings sit a touch higher than others in binding. Overall a very good, acceptable copy.
