Bound in half-morocco on marbled boards.This is a historical work which relates 'memorable events in Paris' before and during its occupancy by the Allied Armies in 1814. These events are told through extracts taken from Underwood's diary, who was a 'detenu', or prisoner, at the time. Contents include headings such as 'Events of January 1814' to 'Events of June 1814' as well as 'anecdotes of Buonaparte's journey to Elba'. Written by Thomas Richard Underwood (1772-1836).
