All 3 vols have spines damaged and had missing portions, now restored. Spines have have gold long-stemmed "lilies" with scarab beetles on top; the front covers in gold show a Pharoah on a "swing seat", slightly rubbed. The edges are NOTworn and the corners are only very slightly bumped or not at all. No ownership markings. Frontis MISSING from Vol 1 and II; VOL I :front fep replaced; xxxiii plus Errata slip plus 406pp; Chapter vignettes from #A to C; text figures to #73a. 3 Plates, one in colour, one folding. VOL II : xxxiv plus Errata slip plus 446pp; Text Figures go to #317; plates 1-4 and 7 are NOT listed and NOT present; b&w plates 5,6,8,9, are listed and present, col plate 10 and b&w plates 11,12, and 14 are listed and present; Plate 13 should have formed the frontis but is missing. VOL III : re-printed 1842. col frontis (Plate 17), xxiv plus 404pp including Appendix plus 8pp ads, plates 16 & 17 are in colour; text figures go to #419. Vignettes G H and I. Any "plastic" is easily removable, it is not adhered to the book nor to the dust jacket. We do not use sellotape nor any other tape which discolours. We restore books where necessary and describe ONLY EXCEPTIONS to a perfect state. Faults in expensive books are described in huge detail. WHEN RESTORED the majority of "faults'' are visible only with great difficulty and certainly NOT in an image. To avoid misleading you we include few images. Please be guided by the very full descriptions. If no faults are described in a cheaper book, please be guided by the Condition. RESTORATION SERVICE. We restore any book younger than 1800 making your grotty, broken old books look like beautifully-cared-for precious old books. DUST JACKETS IN FACSIMILE.
