About This Item
Preston: James Askew & Son, 1903. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Exceptionally scarce in this new 1903 edition from provincial publisher, which features a special preface from Caine replying to criticism of the novel, in particular a suggestion that it might be anti-Methodist. Stock tined, but otherwise in goof order throughout. Prize plate (dated April 1903) to front pastedown. Smart brown boards with bevelled edges and bright gilt titling to front and spine. 12mo. 439pp.

About Dodman Books
Formerly Journobooks, my original speciality was books about journalism, journalists, newspapers and other media (hence the name) and I still have a good stock of hard-to-find books in that field. Over time I have added a wide and eclectic variety of other collectible volumes alongside a general secondhand stock. I am a collector as well as a seller so know all about the pitfalls of online buying as well as the joys. I will try to make your buying experience as easy and as pleasant as possible.
