About This Item

Glens Falls NY: Seneca Ray Stoddard, 1898. 20th. Map. Very Good/No Dust Jacket. 20th (1898) Edition of Seneca Ray Stoddard's incredibly popular pocket map of the Adirondacks. First published in 1880, it went through many revisions. Not as frame-able as some of his other maps (notably his unfolded "Map of the Adirondacks, published in the early 20th century) it is nonetheless one of his most collected and sought after maps. This edition, as with many of the later issues, has highlighted (pink) boundary of the park as well as letters of "Adirondack Park." The Adirondack Park was formed in 1892 by the State of New York, so editions past this date may have the boundary added and the park name highlighted for emphasis. This copy has the typical wear to creases and some holes/tears at corners of folds. Otherwise clean and intact overall. Green cloth binding intact but rubbed with some light soiling and some edgewear and corner bumps. Please see image. Open map is appx 24.5 x 31.25 inches. Folds into pocket sized, hardcover book of appx 4 by 5.7 inches. Email for close-up images or more details.
