Remington Rand.. Copyright 1944.. Seven color bird's eye view style maps, each 12 1/2 x 18 1/2 inches on sheet size 18 1/4 x 21 inches. Light vertical creasing, soft edge wear to a couple of sheets, overall very good condition. This is a complete set of seven maps published by the Library Bureau of Remington Rand, located in OCLC under different descriptive titles, including "Stratospheric views of the seven strategic fronts of World War II" and "World War II Battlefronts." Taking a bird's eye view of the globe and with relief artistically rendered, Kenneth Thompson depicts World War II battlefronts; descriptive text beneath the image is by George Fielding Eliot. In keeping with the "aviation-age" cartography, the unusual perspective (from above, and often with a direction other than north at the top of the map) challenges the viewer to reconsider the geopolitical situation. .
