London: Dent, 1939. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. First UK Edition. First Edition, First Issue binding of publisher’s smooth mauve cloth lettered gilt at the spine and with a purple top-stain. Frontispiece portrait by Augustus John. Spine slightly sunned as always otherwise a VG copy in a near fine price-clipped D/W with just a hint of darkening to the spine and minuscule wear to the extremities. A much nicer copy than normally seen and quite scarce in this collectable condition. The author’s third book and the first to include his prose
