John Fremont in California, where Mule, a trapper and a hunter, had a ranch near Mariposa. Mule booked passage on the Butterfield Overland Mail stage from St. Louis to San Francisco. His fellow passengers were Amanda Johnson, a widow, Wesley Slattery and a man called Clayt Durham. The trip west was not without incident..... Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. Used.
