Hardcover. photogravure frontispieces. pp. 368, 365.,Royal 8vo,,Two volume set, uniformly bound in ribbed blue cloth,Gilt facsimile of Twain's signature stamped on front board of each volume. Top edge gilt. Facsimile of note in Twain's handwriting precedes frontispiece of first volume. Rather soppy gift inscription in ink (dated 1924) on front free endpaper of volume I. Binding of both volumes a bit rubbed at edge, sl. soiling, and sl. shaken. Rear hinge of volume I and front hinge of volume two starting. Nick to cloth on spine of volume II near gutter. Overall, both volumes still in fairly good condition, and priced accordingly.

With an Introduction by Albert Bigelow Paine.
