An interesting book describing hundreds of products sold at the markets including calves eyes, moose, skunk, swan, woodpecker, eagle, whale, turtle, milkweed, cedar berries, truffles, etc. Laid down at ffep are news clippings from 1891 and 1892 relating to the author (some loosely inserted), and an ALS to T. Morrell concerning engravings. Volume 1 covers New York City, Volume II apparently never published. 8vo, xiv, 591pp, index pp593-621. Presentation copy signed by the author, 3/4 brown morocco, with 5 raised bands on spine, gilt title. 'Dennis De Coursey from the Author' imprinted in gilt on front cover.
