About This Item
This is a near-perfect copy of the first US abridged edition (1978), and the second printing overall, of Lady Antonia Fraser's renowned biography Mary Queen of Scots.
Mary remains one of the most romantic and fascinating figures in British history and this book tells her story perfectly. Mary became Queen of France at age 16, then was widowed and returned to Scotland as Queen at age 19. From then on, her life was nothing but controversy, danger, violence, politics, two terrible marriages, and imprisonment, until she was beheaded in 1587, age 44, on the order of her cousin Queen Elizabeth.
All of this is masterfully told in 208 pages. The book also includes loads of photos, in color and black and white.
As you can see, the dust jacket has a small nick out of it. The spine of the jacket is completely faded out. The book has a little fading to the top and bottom of the cover.
Inside, it is perfect.
