Printed and bound in Shanghai. 10.75 x 7.75 inches. Bound in aubergine-colored buckram boards, with fairly crisp gilt-stamped lettering and design to the front and spine. Generally unbumped spine head and tail, and with impressively sharp corners. Text block firmly bound in. Subtly patterned pastedowns. 153 numbered pages of text, plus 222 B&W full page plates and illustrations on semi-glossy coated stock. An impressively clean interior, save for 2x2 inch publisher/bookseller label to the front pastedown and with slight off-setting to the opposite FEP. Also with calling card of Mr. Max Edward Vittaly [1898-1984] neatly pasted to the front FEP. Slight age toning to all pages. Else no demerits noticed. With the rarely found original dust jacket.
