Patterned fleur-de-lis boards w/turquoise stars, black and white cover and spine titles on crisp, orange fields, light shelf wear; little residue to edges. Original first edition cover titles with Simone Beck listed above Julia Child. Pages generally very good; few at center with apparent culinary discoloration. Stylish antiquarian signature and recipes with pages at front endpaper: "Patsy N. Sanford. Onion Soup..., Beef Bourguigenonne..., Leg of Lamb..., Chocolate Sponge Cake." Bind fine, square; hinges intact. Original first edition wrapper, some missing material esp. to front panel, chip, closed tears, rub, discoloration; clipped, protected in new clear sleeve.
