About This Item
Doubleday & Company, Inc, 1955. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Two volume set of the Harry S. Truman Memoirs, INSCRIBED. Volume 1: Years of Decisions is a first edition as stated on the copyright page. INSCRIBED and dated by Truman on the front free end page to Samuel A Boorstin, prominent attorney in Tulsa, OK, and father of Daniel J. Boorstin, who became the 12th Librarian of Congress. This inscription suggests that Truman sought the elder Boorstin's advice at some point. Boorstin's personal sticker affixed to the bottom of the front free end paper. There are several notations made by a previous owner on the front paste down, front free end paper and back free end paper. Darkening on the front free papers from something that was laid (or perhaps taped) in. Very slight edge wear; very good condition. Dust jacket has original price of $5.00 printed on the front flap. Some edge wear; darkening at top of spine; very good. Volume 2: Years of Trial and Hope is a first edition, as stated on the copyright page. A nice, bright, square copy in near fine condition. No dust jacket. We will provide a certificate of authenticity for this item.
