Fine binding edition of the "Memoirs of the Life of Sir Samuel Romilly" - Written by Himself; With a Selection from His Correspondence. 1841; John Murray; London. Complete in 2 volumes. With a frontispiece portrait of Romilly and a fold-out facsimile of a letter in his handwriting in volume I. Romilly was a British legal reformer. His Memoirs, some effectively in the form of diary entries, give accounts of English and French life and politics that remain interesting to this day.

Condition:
Some rubbing to the marbled covers; very light corner wear; there are a few tiny scuffs to the leather spines. Both volumes are tightly bound with no cracks and no loose pages. The pages of both volumes are in terrific condition - clean and white with no notable condition issues. Each volume has an owner's label affixed to the front pastedown. Volume II has "$1000-" written in antique pen on the front end paper. Overall a great condition set
