Memoirs of the Life of Sir Samuel Romilly: Written by Himself with a Selection from His Correspondence

by Samuel Romilly

Condition: Very Good+

Fine binding edition of the "Memoirs of the Life of Sir Samuel Romilly" - Written by Himself; With a Selection from His Correspondence. 1841; John Murray; London. Complete in 2 volumes. With a frontispiece portrait of Romilly and a fold-out facsimile of a letter in his handwriting in volume I. Romilly was a British legal reformer. His Memoirs, some effectively in the form of diary entries, give accounts of English and French life and politics that remain interesting to this day.

Some rubbing to the marbled covers; very light corner wear; there are a few tiny scuffs to the leather spines. Both volumes are tightly bound with no cracks and no loose pages. The pages of both volumes are in terrific condition - clean and white with no notable condition issues. Each volume has an owner's label affixed to the front pastedown. Volume II has "$1000-" written in antique pen on the front end paper. Overall a great condition set
