Photographic dustwrapper, showing Sarah Bernhardt in full regalia, against a maroon background with yellow and white writing on the front panel and yellow on the spine. The memoirs of Sarah Bernhardt from her childhood through to the first American tour. Included at the end of the memoirs is her book -- " In the Clouds; Impressions of a Chair ". This is the first English translation of Miss Bernhardt's book and includes the original illustrations by Georges Clairin. dustjacket has several short tears on the rear panel, and rubbing and splits at the corners of the top edge.
