The text is illustrated with nine sepia toned photographs/illustrations. Green coloured cloth boards with embossed author's initials to the front panel and gilt titles to the backstrip. The autobiography of John Buchan the author of the book "The 39 Steps" and numerous other works but also was the Governor of Canada, as Lord Tweedsmuir, in the middle part of the 20th century. . Light age toning of the text block and internal text. the dust jacket chipped across the top edge and torn. No other damage to describe. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Moderate foxing to text-block edges. Binding is slightly shaky. Boards have moderate edge wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Crushing to spine ends with small splits and fraying to cloth. Scuffing and light marking overall. Mild tanning to spine and edges. Area of brown staining to rear board with dark scuffed marking. Book is forward leaning.
