Dustjacket is spine-sunned, lightly edgeworn, with two splash marks at heel of spine and lower front panel; Very Good+. The current example is printed in black on gray stock, lacking a printed price - possibly a variant or trial jacket.

The first book by this British writer (born in Liverpool to Irish parents) to be published in the United States; its stories, like much of his early fiction, are centered around either the sea or the Irish Catholic working class of Liverpool.
