New York: The Mentor Association, 1920. Semi-monthly publication devoted to popular education in the arts and sciences, its motto being "Learn One Thing Every Day". Each single-topic issue is in printed wraps with eight to twelve pages of illustrated text by an authority on the selected subject, plus six photogravure black and white plates with extensive explanatory information on the back. These plates are loosely laid into the covers and are often missing. This issue has all six plates present, and show works such as the Assumption of the Virgin, Pesaro Madonna, Portrait of Charles V, Portrait of Philip II, Portrait of Himself, and Madonna, Child and Saints. Covers have some edgewear and a note indicating the topic at the upper edge. Spine just beginning to separate from the bottom. Text and plates in very good condition. . Soft Cover. Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
