D. Appleton and Company. New York, London. 1931. First Edition (date on title page and (1) on foot of last page). xv. 259 pages, plus a one-page publisher advertisement at end. The maroon covers are in good plus condition. There is minor bumping at the top/bottom of spine. The title and author are in bright gold on the front cover and spine. The covers retain much of their original color, although there are small spots and some staining, mostly on the front cover. The binding is solid. There is a small stain on the lower page edges and page edges mildly toned. This is not visible on open pages. The interior of the book is in very good condition. There is no writing, the pages are clean and bright. A small stain is visible on the bottom of one page, no other spotting detected.
