Spine has five raised bands, black morocco title label and gilt ornaments to compartments. Staining to inner edge of half title, title, and decreasing over the first few pages. Repaired tears to outside edge of half title. Section of loss with old paper repair to outside edge of title page. Marking to 'Avertissement' page after title. Text has some spotting and light staining. Numerous illustrations, some with paper repairs to edges. Landmark title by Croisat, the 'Napoleon of Hairdressing'. Covering all aspects of the profession, from its history, to analysis of the shape of the face and head, and descriptions of hairstyles and accessories. Scarce. Overall condition is Very Good.
