Guns 763: "Reprinted in 1892, bound in cloth and with the same text but with the addition of a certificate, signed by seven old-time pioneers attesting to the truth of the narrative, which appears on page 406.The second printing is bound in red cloth, and the first edition is so rare that some collectors think that the 1892 edition was the only one published. Light tanning. Good plus. The second edition, after the first of 1890 which Adams describes as "exceedingly rare...the first edition is so scarce that some collectors think the 1892 edition the only one published." The present edition contains an attestation of veracity by seven old-timers not included in the first edition. "Midnight - the period of outlawry, lynch law and Indian warfare - endures for 393 pages; while but 13 pages suffice to tell the sad tale of the dawn's coming" - Eberstadt.
