In grey boards with red spine cloth. A beautiful copy that appears unread with only a small scuff and bottom front corner, otherwise sharp corners, clean interior and tight binding. Jacket is unclipped($14.95) and glossy with 1 inch tear and to top of front panel and a few nicks to spine ends. Tanning stripes likely form storage to top of rear panel and a fair amount of fading to spine (which every copy I have seen displays due to color used) and a little to edges of front panel.

First edition, second printing - published in the same month (April 1981)as the first printing. 446 pages in excellent, clean, white condition. Endpapers clean. Burgundy cloth over grey boards, silver titles. Very light sunning along the top and bottom edges. Corners lightly worn. Pink DJ with black/ burgundy titles. Price-clipped. Tiny chips along top edge, head/tail of spine. Spine slightly faded, and with two tiny nicks. Corners lightly worn. Binding nice and tight. VG+/VG. First Edition, Second Printing. Hard Cover. VG+/VG.

New York: Knopf, 1981. Very Good in a Very Good+ dust jacket. Smoke-gray boards quarterbound in brown cloth. Both the spine and the front panel are stamped in silver. 446pps. Stated First Edition. This is an ex-library copy, though, apparently, lightly circulated. A library label is affixed to the front pastedown, a square of dried adhesive is on the ffep, and there are faint tape-ghosts on both boards. There is, otherwise, mild bumping to the lower tips and some dustspotting atop the textblock. That said, the text is quite clean and bright and the binding is sound. The dust jacket, glossy in a new mylar sleeve, is lightly rubbed and has a few short closed tears. There is none of the usual fading on the spine-panel of the jacket. The original price (13.95) is intact on the front panel. This U.S. edition precedes the British and is the true first edition.
