About This Item
London: Andre Deutsch. Good with no dust jacket. 1959. First Edition. Hardcover. 222 pages. Stated first edition of the author's 3rd book, his first short story collection. Original black cloth covers are clean, slight bit of bump at bottom edge, spine gilt faded but legible, very slight bit of cocking to the spine causing front board to be just a skosh proud. Original book seller's sticker on inside front cover stuck to the free end paper causing a thinning and lack at that bottom edge at the gutter, as well the first free leaf and the half title have a small crease at bottom fore-edge with a very short tear, otherwise clean and unmarked, binding tight. Paper has a bit of toning. ; 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall .
